The Sajuwa Coat

She stands tall in the middle of tomorrow; her shoulders bridging time. She walks and the earth vibrates under her feet with euphoria, her steps so easy they look like leaves falling from the tree at the will of the universe. She runs but leaves no destruction in her wake. She screams and the silences don’t break but shed like old skin, to reveal growth and rebirth. She tells of the newer, and of the old ways. She bursts- and all the thirst washes away from the world. She is the queen of the desert, they say, and her crown is made of that particular form of peace that fills a place, but with nothing but  possibilities.

A one-of-a-kind design, made with white silk and shimmery golden details down its back, handwoven into a textile with glittering details stitched onto soft red cotton emulating a second skin, with golden embroidery made by hand along its collar and lapels.
